Although her early death meant her works were completed by the mid 1950’s, it wasn’t until after her death in the 1970’s that her self-portraits and painting style, keeping to her native country’s popular culture, were truly discovered. By the 1990’s she had become somewhat of an icon for her nationality, feminism and LGBTQ+ movements. It’s the Mexican Artist (Frida) Kahlo 1907-1954, that this gorgeous bear represents. She has been lovingly designed by Isabelle Lee with Charlotte Morris for Charlie Bears.
Kahlo is a 33 cm / 13″, fully jointed, character bear. She has been sewn from a mix of luxurious mohair and sumptuous alpaca in hot pink with crisp white accents and tactile, reverse mohair paws and inner ears. Endearing white enhanced, glossy black eyes and a cute, hand stitched taupe nose, gently shape her face, with delicately applied colour shading bringing definition and charm, whilst being part-bean filled, results in a good weight and that must-have, snugly, cuddly feel. To finish, a large sheer white organza bow, with a bejewelled key pendant.

Don’t be surprised if your breath is taken away as you enter either of these shops. There is something suitable for everyone, from young to old, collectible to cuddly soft toys and something for everyone’s budget.
The first time I ordered everything went smoothly. The jury is out on the second order as The Post Office seem to have mislaid the parcel. Elaine however is a star who deserves a better service.
I started a 'tradition' in our family that I bought all my great nephews and nieces a Steiff teddy when they were born. I love looking on the website for these bears. It's so easy and as they all live out of the area to have them posted directly with a hand written note makes it a perfect choice. I have never had a problem and the bears are all loved very much. They have all arrived when expected and are well packaged.
Although the item I'd ordered had been discontinued, I was informed of this by email within hours. Service was friendly faultless!
